Online Business and the Membership Academy

This week I put out an announcement in various places (Linked In, my Facebook group and direct emails) about a new learning opportunity I am releasing around the end of September. I have already released various videos on my YouTube channel with the Automation Academy logo on it, but so far the Automation Academy has just been a collection of videos and a course on Udemy.

Well, that’s about to change. I have mentioned before that between the tornado in March and the pandemic Covid-19, I am having to pivot to a stronger online presence. Without classes to teach, I have been doing webinars on Fridays at 10am CST. I am creating new videos, and writing up a lot of other content.

Seven years ago, I took a course from Danny Iny called Audience Business Masterclass and learned a lot about online business. Right about then I started teaching extensively for Automation Training, so I put a lot of those ideas on hold. Well, funny thing about how things have come full circle, and everything I do is now online.

About a month ago I decided to expand my website and build whats called a “membership site”. There is a lot to learn on this subject, so I joined another membership site called Membership Academy. This is conducted by the Membership Guys, who are actually not guys, but Mike Morrison and Callie Willows, who have been in the online marketing and web development business for many years.

I ponied up for a year of membership and am really impressed so far. There is a TON of good information in the group and I am learning a lot about the business, but its a lot of work.

Anyway, this is now what the Automation Academy is going to be, a membership site with lots of good resources. My actual opening date could be as late as October 1, but I will also be announcing a deal on “Founder’s Memberships” at the end of the coming week. I have offered a free valuable resource to the first 100 people who sign up on my “waiting list”, and will be sending that out next week along with the formal announcement of the memberships and a full overview of what the site will contain.

This year has brought a lot of changes to my life and what I do, and the Automation Academy is going to be a great way for me to get to know my students long term and personally. I have taught thousands of students over the past few years, but I only ever see a few of them in followup classes or when traveling. This will change all of that while also allowing me to offer a lot of my material in a less expensive way. Stay tuned!
