OT SCADA CON
Last week I had the honor of being the first speaker at the very first OT SCADA CON in Houston, Texas.
What is OT SCADA CON? It was a two day training and networking event surrounding SCADA and Operational Technology. Each section was 30 minutes long and covered theory, hardware, software, procurement, and industry examples. There were hardware giveaways, swag, and sponsored food.
Best of all, it was an opportunity to network and learn from industry experts in a LOT of different disciplines. I made some great new connections and got to meet some of my favorite Linked In connections in person.
The event was put on by the Automation Ladies and sponsored by a wide range of vendors. I think a huge part of the success of this conference was the team approach and constant attention they paid to it. Alicia Gilpin (Ali G) came up with the idea after seeing TracerouteCon, an event held by Josh Varghese. Josh was also one of the many speakers at this conference. The idea was concepted in February and was organized in less than 6 months!
The conference was a really cool mix of networking and learning. In addition to a wide range of topics, meals were provided including dinner and karaoke the evening of the first day.
