Looking for Feedback

Help Wanted...
I recently updated the Applications tab on this blog to list links to some of the machines or systems I have worked on in the past. One of my goals when starting this website was to make it an interactive site where other automators like myself could post some of the projects they have worked on in the past, maybe give others some tips or even just blatantly advertise their services and capabilities…. While I have received a few messages and comments on applications I’ve posted, so far no one has shown any interest in posting a “guest” application or blog post.

Because I am currently still employed with a machine builder and integrator here in Nashville I have purposely kept this site pretty low key. I will be leaving the company in December (at the latest) and will be devoting more time this Fall to the website. My book “The Automation Primer” is making good progress, I am on chapter 7 but have only posted part of the first three chapters here. I plan on posting more of it over the next few months and I am hoping for some constructive criticism before I get it ready for publishing next year.

Another dilemma I have: as some have noticed, when I travel I tend to have less time to craft a proper post. I am headed to Tucson again in a couple of weeks for work and will probably be able to post fairly easily from there, but in January I am planning on a month-long trip to Central America and will have a much more difficult time posting interesting articles. I will really need some help and I am hoping to meet some contacts who are interested in guest writing some applications or informational posts. All you would need to do is send me an e-mail with some interesting automation stuff in it and I will format it complete with links to your site. As I mentioned above, this is a great opportunity to get some free advertisement and website traffic. As I start to promote this site more this Fall it will almost certainly start seeing a lot more traffic and this might be a good move for some entrepreneurial sort.

In short, I am looking for feedback on all aspects of this site; ease of use, relevance of posts, is there useful and interesting information here, what can I do to improve the site/ increase traffic? I will be seeking professional website and promotional help in September or October this year but would really appreciate some feedback from anyone using this site. Drop me an e-mail at phranc.lamm@yahoo.com if you would like to talk about it!
